I was seconded by PSNK to Tengiz to get involved in TCO trainings for DCS Engineers (FATP) from April to October 2014. Employed as a Trainee Instrument Engineer for FGP Project in PSNK, Atyrau. I was seconded by PSNK to Mustang office in Woking, UK, to get familiar with the project from September 2013 to February 2014. I had to work in three different groups (Systems Engineering, RIE Design, and Project Engineering) to get an overall view of how projects are conducted. In System Engineering team, I was involved in a work on Bill of Materials and Hardware estimate with Honeywell engineers. Also I gained knowledge from Honeywell engineers on Ladder Logic, fiber optic network, different types of controllers (PID, Cascade, and Split range), OPC, Modbus, and Fieldbus. Moreover, I checked 3GP MOA, 3GI MOA, Power control room and IOCC rack room layouts according to Safety in Design specification. In these layouts, I was only interested in server and equipment rooms. With Project Engineering team, I attended Hazops for Water Treatment Unit. Also I reviewed P&IDs, PFDs and Control and Operating philosophies for 3GP, PBF and Water Treatment Unit. In RIE Design, I created spreadsheet for easy access and control of all RIEs. Also, I calculated power loads and dissipation and UPS Batteries for RIEs. I participated several meetings with clients and vendors, and supported with writing Minutes of Meetings to Mustang engineers. Checked RIE layouts according Safety in Design, updated all types of RIE layouts with designers and prepared them for next revision. Also I gained some knowledge about Cathodic Protection, HVAC system and Power System. During all my secondment, I passed all automation online courses on Mustang website.
